The Abbey Theatre is committed to complying with the recommended guidelines for financial reporting requirements. The Abbey Theatre keeps detailed accounting records, maintain strict financial controls, and are transparent in our audited financial statements and our statement of employee annual remuneration. Our financial statements have been prepared in accordance with FRS102. The Statement of Recommended Practice for charities and not-for-profit entities SORP (FRS102) is currently accepted as best practice in Ireland.

The Abbey Theatre is committed to the standards contained in the Statement of Guiding Principles for Fundraising. The statement was developed by the Irish Charities Tax Reform Group to provide charities in Ireland with a Fundraising Code of Practice. These standards were consulted on, revised and reissued by the Charities Regulator as the Guidelines for Charitable Organisations on Fundraising from the Public. The purpose of the statement is to:

  • Improve the way charities in Ireland raise their funds
  • Promote high levels of accountability and transparency by organisations fundraising from the public
  • Provide clarity and assurances to donors and prospective donors about the organisations they support
