An Abbey Theatre production
30 March - 16 May 2020
By Brian Friel
With performances due to begin on 30 March, the current closure has disrupted the rehearsal process and the technical installation for Faith Healer. We need to postpone this production. We will announce new dates in due course.
If you held a ticket for any affected performances, our box-office team will be in touch. Please do not contact the box-office directly. There are a lot of orders to rearrange, but rest assured that we will be in touch with every ticket holder.
We greatly appreciate your patience, as we work to update each customer individually.
‘Am I endowed with the unique and awesome gift? My God, yes, I’m afraid so.’
Frank Hardy. Faith Healer.
Travelling through remote and isolated areas in Scotland and Wales, Frank Hardy offers his unique cure to the most desperate and hopeless of people. Does he actually possess a gift? Or are these rare and miracle healings only tricks of the mind?
Telling the story of Frank, his wife Grace and manager Teddy, we encounter differing perspectives of their absurd and momentous lives together. With each tale come new revelations in this spellbinding narrative.
40 years since directing the Irish Premiere of Faith Healer at the Abbey Theatre, Joe Dowling returns with a new production of Brian Friel’s masterpiece on the Abbey Stage.
