The Dublin Story Grand Slam
3 December 2017
Date: 3 December
Tickets: €13 – €25 / Conc. €20
Everyone has a story and The Dublin Story Slam is where you come to share yours.
For nearly 3 years, The Dublin Story Slam has hosted open mic storytelling nights that sold out crowds have lined up for. Thousands of listeners have heard hundreds of extraordinary true stories from ordinary Dubliners and sometimes, they’ve even told one themselves.
Now, The Dublin Story Grand Slam has invited ten of these Winning Story Slam Champions to come together for a night of new short personal stories. Anything can happen in 7 minutes but only one Grand Slam Champion will be named.
The theme of the 2017 Grand Slam is Lost & Found. From getting lost on the road to losing yourself in life, hear stories of wandering off the beaten path, losing someone or something, taking a wrong turn and maybe even arriving at a dead end. The night will also feature stories of finding yourself, putting yourself on the map, asking strangers for directions and discovering that one thing that helps turn your life around.
About The Dublin Story Slam
Formerly The Moth Story Slam, The Dublin Story Slam is the city’s only competitive open mic storytelling night. Every month, storytellers are picked at random to get up onstage and share their own deeply personal true tales inspired by a different theme each month. These stories are as varied as life itself and can be sad, funny, tragic, inspiring, big and small transforming the room from pin-drop silent to deafening applause. At the end of the night, judges name an overall winner and it’s these winning Story Slam finalists that will be competing together on December 3rd at The Dublin Grand Slam Championship.
