A unique event designed to explore The Playboy of the Western World as a drama text for Leaving Certificate English in 2018-2019 and 2019-2020.
This exciting event will offer a series of imaginative talks and readings covering The Playboy of the Western World.
Theatre artists and academics will share their expert knowledge and first-hand experience to provide key insights that relate to exam topics and questions. Speakers will include:
- Aaron Monaghan: multi-award winning actor, played Christy Mahon in Druid Theatre’s acclaimed productions (2005-2009)
- Dr. Christopher Collins: author of the acclaimed companion guide
JM Synge’s The Playboy of the Western World
There will also be presentations and conversations from other theatre-makers, all of whom have worked closely with the play.
There will be time for questions and discussion after each session, as well as the opportunity for students to present an original essay as part of a writing competition (details upon booking).
