In an entirely re-imagined Peacock Theatre in the heart of Dublin, audiences will traverse the depths of the destroyed buildings of O’Connell Street to explore one of the most contentious elements of our difficult past and its deeply enduring legacy in the present.

One of Ireland’s most innovative multidisciplinary theatre makers, ANU, in partnership with the Abbey Theatre, will excavate the final moments of the Battle of Dublin with this end of year show.

Inviting audiences into the epicentre of the Civil War and a nation teetering on the brink of peace, this blistering new work will square up to the foundation stones of our state. HAMMAM brings ANU’s marking of the Decade of Centenaries to a close after a staggering 22 projects since 2013.
