“Never breathe a word of what I went through there...”
Do You Come From Gomorrah? is a world premiere from Frank McGuinness, one of Ireland’s most celebrated playwrights.
‘I recognise my breed, when I come across the men who look as if they have seen a ghost…’
A young man relives his time caged in a reformatory where money and terror shaped him, his faith, his sexuality.
‘I do not like the past. It is not kind to me. It does not belong to me.’
He relives the violence and loyalty that shaped him and the province of Ulster he loves, yet must leave.
Stark, unsettling, in the darkest of nights, holding on to hope, who is it that asks “do you come from Gomorrah?” And where is Gomorrah? So near, so far…
Do You Come From Gomorrah? is performed by one actor, to be announced in the coming weeks, and directed by Sarah Baxter.
