Everyone has a story to tell.
Written by Barbara Bergin and directed by Caroline Byrne, the world premiere of this wild, exuberant ride through our capital’s twentieth century comes to the Abbey Stage this November.
Dublin Gothic is a loser’s history of the city and its people, told through a joyous mix of literary styles. This extraordinary tragicomedy follows three generations of residents in one Dublin 1 house across a century of social upheaval.
Set against the backdrop of a transforming city and teeming with Dublin wit and character, this glorious collection of endearing and dastardly locals will entertain you as they dance through time and struggle to keep the only thing they have to lose: the roof over their heads.
This contemporary and inventive play will challenge how Irish stories are told, encouraging us to see the world in a new way as we watch the cast of 19 bring the ghosts, the pasts and the stories that have been overlooked to life this winter.
Extra performances now on sale. Tickets for all performances from €15.
