As performer, theatre professional or student, there are many ways to join the National Theatre of Ireland.

Careers 

Casting 

The Casting Director is responsible for casting all in-house productions. The process varies from show to show depending on cast sizes.

If you would like to submit a CV and headshot for an upcoming production, please send them to casting@abbeytheatre.ie. You can also send any show invites to this address. The Casting Director is committed to seeing as many shows as possible.

Open Auditions are run periodically throughout the year. Please follow us on social media for updates and application details.

Internships 

As part of our professional development programme, we partner with the following organisations: Atlantic Technological University Sligo, University of Galway, Villanova University and the University of Notre Dame.

Transition Year Programme 

The Transition Year programme 2026/2027 will take place towards the end of the 2026 and more information on the application process will be available closer to the time.
