Video for Tom Murphy’s - The House

Aideen Howard, Literary Director of the Abbey Theatre talks about Tom Murphy and The House.

‘If you care about theatre, indeed if you care about Ireland, The House must be seen’ Sunday Independent

The House is a big play featuring a cast of 17 highly acclaimed actors including; Cathy Belton, Declan Conlon, Lorcan Cranitch, Bosco Hogan, Eleanor Methven and Karl Shiels. After the success of last year’s Pygmalion, director Annabelle Comyn brings her vision to another play by a great Irish writer.

Set in 1950s Ireland, Christy Cavanagh is among the emigrants, home for their annual summer trip. He is looking forward to the usual simple pleasures; a pint in the local, meeting with friends and catching up on the news. But this will be a visit like no other.
