Our Venues
We have two stages at the Abbey:
The ABBEY stage
The auditorium is fan-shaped with a width of 39 feet at the proscenium and extending to 85 feet at the back. Its depth is 60 feet from the proscenium opening to the back wall of the auditorium. The height of the auditorium can be adjusted for different theatre or concert conditions. Seating capacity is 492 seats and two designated wheelchair spaces.
The open stage – with its forestage mounted on two lifts that descend to form an orchestra pit – can extend forward to a total of 14 feet from the curtain line which provides a sense of intimacy between players and audience.

The PEACOCK stage
The Peacock stage is situated under the Abbey foyer. Seating capacity is 127 and can be used with a traditional seating arrangement or can be formed into a 20 X 20 feet central playing area, surrounded on three sides by seating.

My daughter and I will be ending our visit to Ireland on Saturday, June, 26. I really want her to experience the Abbey Theater as I did on my first and only trip to Ireland 38 years ago. I am either not finding my way around you site or the only thing I see available is the OUTIDERS - which is not quite wwhat I had in mind! Is there something else available then? Thank you.

What is the current status of the decision to move the Abbey to a new venue at the Docklands site?

My wife and I are going to be attending the Rivals on Wednesday September 16th. I am wondering, since we are touring all of Ireland we have opted to pack light, does the Abbey have a dress code we need to be aware of? Thanks.

You and your students can see The Rivals - it’s very witty and entertaining! You can find out more about the play by clicking on the image for the play from the homepage of this website. Hope that helps.

Can you help me, please.
