24 actors, 6 Writers, 6 Directors: One Night Only!

The 2nd annual performance of The 24 Hour Plays in Ireland arrives on the Abbey stage.

For one night only Ireland’s most talented stars of stage and screen will join forces to create six brand new plays written, rehearsed and presented all within 24 hours. Six playwrights, six directors and an all-star line-up of 24 performers will present their work on the Abbey stage.

The full line-up includes: Fiona Looney, Michael West, Arthur Riordan, Amy Conroy , Paul Mercier, Gina Moxley, Louise Lowe, Annabelle Comyn, José Miguel Jiménez, Garry Hynes, Jason Byrne, Barbara Bergin, Pauline McLynn, Eleanor Methven, Janet Moran, Caoilfhionn Dunne, Sarah Greene, Finula Murphy, Stefanie Preissner, Marie Ruane, Ruth McGill, Aobhinn McGinnity, Valerie O’Connor, Shane Byrne, Mark Fitzgerald, Ian Lloyd Anderson, Keith Duffy, Andrew Macklin, Laurence Kinlan, Peter Coonan, Declan Conlon, Gary Murphy, Nick Lee, Conor Madden, Dermot Magennis, Alan King and a very special musical guest, Lisa Hannigan.

This is the 2nd annual presentation of The 24 Hour Plays as a special fundraising event for Dublin Youth Theatre. The first Irish incarnation of The 24 Hour Plays received its sold-out Irish premiere presentation in February 2012 at Project Arts Centre and went on to win a Special Recognition Award for Best Event at the Irish Fundraising Awards.

The 24 Hour Plays originated in New York in the mid-90s and is now an annual benefit on Broadway, as well as at the Old Vic in London, Chicago, Athens and around the world. The show is presented under a license and with the participation of The 24 Hour Company, New York, NY and is produced by Eva Scanlan and Phillip McMahon as a fundraising event for Dublin Youth Theatre.
