Let your imagination soar with this entrancing show.
Acrobat, clown, poet and magician, James Thiérrée creates a world of endless invention. One of Europe’s most extraordinarily versatile artists, Thiérrée uses his impish talent to transform everyday objects into magical dream-like spectacles that captivate, charm and inspire.
In this solo show, Thiérrée is Raoul, a man without beginning or end, who tumbles through a series of utopian fantasies in which acrobatics, mysterious transformations, music and dance collide – a world which is at once recognisable and yet utterly alien. Raoul is a surprising and daring show in which Thiérrée mischievously teases the audience whilst demonstrating his formidable skills through delightful visual comedy.
Following the success of Aurélia’s Oratorio, Taoub and Circo da la Sombra, we’re delighted to team up once again with Crying Out Loud to present this captivating show.
A fun show for all the family.
A Compagnie du Hanneton/Junebug production co-commissioned by the Abbey Theatre in association with Crying Out Loud, barbicanbite09, La Coursive Scène Nationale de La Rochelle, Le Théâtre de Namur, La Comédie de Clermont-Ferrand, Théâtre de la Ville Paris, La Maison de la Danse Lyon, and Théâtre National de Toulouse
