Priming the Canon: Me, Michael on tour

The Abbey Theatre Community and Education programme is proud to present the second in the Priming the Canon series: Me, Michael.

Priming the Canon introduces classic Irish plays to a younger audience through the power of live performance.

Written by Tara McKevitt, directed by Dan Colley, and featuring John Doran and Bairbre ní hAodha, Me, Michael goes on an Irish national venue and schools tour from 5 0ct – 13 Nov 2015.

John Doran as Michael Evans in Me, Michael

Me, Michael is an engaging retelling of Brian Friel’s Dancing at Lughnasa through the character of a young boy, Michael Evans. It explores the magic of an imaginative child growing up without a father in 1930s Donegal. By sharing his family story, Michael finds a new strength in dealing with prejudice.

We are bringing Me, Michael on a national tour this October – November 2015 to both venues and schools.
