Ruth Negga
Ruth’s work at the Abbey Theatre includes Lay Me Down Softly, The Crucible, The Bacchae of Baghdad, The Burial at Thebes, Duck (Out of Joint/Royal Court co-production), Doldrum Bay, Lolita (in association with The Corn Exchange) and Sons and Daughters. Other work includes Oedipus Loves You, Amy the Vampire and Her Sister Martina (Pan Pan), The Playboy of the Western World (Druid), Titus Andronicus, for which she won an Irish Times Theatre Award for Best Supporting Actress (Siren Productions) and Súile Eile (Fluxus Dance Company). Ruth was nominated for an Olivier award for her performance in Duck in 2003. Television and film credits include Love is the Drug (RTÉ), Colour Me Kubrick, Stars, 3Minute 4-Play, Breakfast on Pluto, nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the Irish Film and Television Awards 2007 and Isolation nominated for Best Actress at the same awards. Ruth’s most recent television work includes Criminal Justice and P.A.’s for BBC. Ruth graduated from the Samuel Beckett Centre, Trinity College Dublin in 2002.
