Mark Lambert

Mark’s work at the Abbey Theatre includes The School for Scandal, Ariel, The Gigli Concert, Barbaric Comedies (Irish Times/ESB award nomination for Best Actor), The Patrick Pearse Motel and Observe the Sons of Ulster Marching Towards the Somme. He recently appeared in The Gigli Concert (Druid Theatre Company Irish tour) and in Big Ol’ Piece of Cake (Fishamble). Other theatre credits include Molly Sweeney, Three Sisters, Art, A Month in the Country, Aristocrats, The Spirit of Annie Ross, The Riot Act, Field Day, Our Country’s Good, The Recruiting Officer and Festen (Royal Court Theatre), Red Black, Ignorant and Tout (Royal Shakespeare Company), Don Carlos (Rough Magic Theatre Company), The Weir (Gate Theatre), Dancing at Lughnasa (Phoenix Theatre and the Garrick, London), Juno and the Paycock, Olivier Award nomination for the role of Joxer (Albery Theatre), Long Day’s Journey into Night, Comedians (Young Vic Theatre) and The Memory of Water which won the Olivier Award for Best Production (Vaudeville Theatre). Television credits include The Tudors, Cracker, Frost, Bottom, The Young Ones, Dalziel and Pascoe , Sharpe’s Regiment, Fair City, Casualty and Vanity Fair. Film credits include The Tiger’s Tail, Veronica Guerin, A Prayer for the Dying, Durango, Jude, Kidnapped and Borstal Boy. Mark has directed in the Royal Lyceum Theatre, Edinburgh and the Tricycle Theatre, London. Other directing includes The Grapes of Wrath (Storytellers), The Memory of Water, The Hunt for Red Willie and Lovers at Versailles (Abbey Theatre). Recently he appeared in Bloody Sunday (Channel 4), No Tears (RTÉ) Single Handed: Stolen Child (Touchpaper Films, RTÉ) and in George Gently (BBC). Mark most recently completed shooting on season two of the BAFTA nominated series Roy for CBBC.
