Louis’ previous work at The Abbey Theatre includes B for Baby (The Irish Times Theatre Awards nomination for Best Actor 2010), Bookworms (2010) and She Stoops to Conquer. Other theatre work includes The Making of ‘Tis Pity She’s a Whore (Siren Productions), The Girl who Forgot to Sing Badly (The Ark in association with Theatre Lovett),A Man in Half (Theatre Lovett), Fables, Tales and Tattlers (Theatre Lovett and Pavilion Theatre), Improbable Frequency and The Life of Galileo (Rough Magic), Freefall and Dublin by Lamplight (Corn Exchange), How Many Miles to Babylon (Second Age), The White-Headed Boy, God’s Gift and Temple of Clown (Barabbas Theatre Company), Slattery’s Sago Saga, The Butterfly Ranch, Candide and The Seven Deadly Sins (Performance Corporation), Antigone (Storytellers and Cork Opera House), Bumbógs and Bees (TEAM), Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (Plush), The Taming of The Shrew (Island) and Diamonds in the Soil (Macnas). Louis has performed in and directed several productions at The Ark, where he also directed Christmas Island and Roddy Doyle’s No Messin’ with the Monkeys. He was The Ark’s Theatre Maker in Residence in 2010. Louis was musical director for The Lost Days of Ollie Deasy (Macnas) and Bumbógs and Bees (TEAM). Television and film work includes Anseo, Killinascully, The Tudors, Showbands, Story Lane and The Morbegs (RTÉ), The Third Policeman’s Ball (TV3) and Stella Days.Radio work includes The Quest (Lyric FM), All that Fall and Embers (Gare St. Lazare Players and RTÉ Radio 1) and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (RTÉ Radio 1). Louis Lovett is Joint Artistic Director of Theatre Lovett.
