José Miguel Jiménez
Jose Miguel’s previous work at the Abbey Theatre as a performer includes Big Love directed by Selina Cartmell. He also performed in Love’s Labour’s Lost directed by Tom Creed (Samuel Beckett Centre), Caligula (Dublin Theatre Festival ’08) and Everybody Loves Sylvia directed by Wayne Jordan (Randolf SD). He studied theatre in Universidad de Chile for four years, and is a founder of two Santiago based theatre companies. He designed the sound for Arturo and performed in Ernesto as part of the international theatre festival, Santiago a Mil, Chile. He made his debut as a director with Who is Fergus Kilpatrick?, winner of the ABSOLUT Spirit of the Fringe ’09 award and his second show with The Company, As you are now so once were we won the ABSOLUT Fringe Best Production ’10 award. Jose Miguel is part of Project Catalyst, an initiative of Project Arts Centre and is the current intern theatre director for Rough Magic’s SEEDS programme. He was shortlisted by the Sunday Times as one of 30 most promising artists of 2011. He will soon direct the Rough Magic’s SEEDS showcase at Project Arts Centre. He is a graduate of the Bachelor in Acting Studies, Trinity College Dublin.
