Jonathan Gunning

Jonathan previously appeared at the Abbey Theatre in Arrah-na-Pogue. He trained at Ecole Jacques Lecoq, Paris and he subsequently toured with the international ensemble, Imibala Theatre to East Africa, Bosnia and France. On his return to Ireland he worked on Grainne Mhaoile (Macnas), Dr. Faustus, Waiting for Godot (Theatre Corp) and Bolt Upright (Angel Exit). His directing credits include Fool Me? (Blue Teapot Theatre) and This Means War (Galway Youth Theatre). He is co-founder of the social-clown duo, The Gombeens, with whom he has written and performed Stories of a Yellow Town, The Hussey Brothers and the award-winning street theatre Donkey Feathers. He is also a founder of the voluntary organisation Clowns without Borders Ireland, performing for children in crisis throughout the world.
