Jim Culleton
Jim’s previous work for the Abbey Theatre includes Bookworms (2010), a reading of Deirdre of the Sorrows as part of Dublin: One City, One Book, Reading the Decades (Series Director) and Howling Moons, Silent Sons. The Abbey Theatre and Fishamble: The New Play Company previously collaborated on The Music of Ghost Light at the Abbey Theatre last year. Jim is the Artistic Director of Fishamble: The New Play Company for which he most recently directed Forgotten (Pat Kinevane), on tour to over 40 Irish venues, eight European countries and four American cities (New York, Boston, Washington DC and Los Angeles), the multi award-winning The Pride of Parnell Street (Sebastian Barry), London, New Haven, Paris, Wiesbaden, New York and Irish tour, Turning Point (Arts & Disability Ireland in Dublin and Washington DC), the multi award-winning Noah and the Tower Flower (Sean McLoughlin), on tour in Dublin, Bulgaria, Romania and New York in 2011 and Silent (Pat Kinevane), on tour during the past year to over 20 Irish venues, Paris and Edinburgh, where it won Fringe First and Herald Angel Awards. He has also directed for Noel Pearson at the Gaiety Theatre, 7:84 (Scotland), Project Arts Centre, Amharclann de hIde, Amnesty International, Pigsback, Tinderbox, The Passion Machine, The Ark, Second Age, RTÉ Radio 1, The Belgrade, Semper Fi, TNL Canada, Scotland’s Ensemble at Dundee Rep, Draíocht, Barnstorm, Roundabout, Trinity College Dublin School of Drama, the Irish Council for Bioethics, Origin (New York) and RTÉ Lyric FM. Current projects for Fishamble include Silent, which will be performed at the Peacock theatre in May and June 2012 as well as on tour in Ireland, the UK, Europe, New York and Los Angeles, Tiny Plays for Ireland (Project Arts Centre) during March 2012 and a range of Training, Development and Mentoring schemes.
