Jane Brennan

Jane’s work at the Abbey Theatre includes No Escape,The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui, The Burial at Thebes, Alice Trilogy (for which she received an Irish Times Theatre Award for Best Actress), The Crucible, Footfalls, The Last Apache Reunion, A Crucial Week in the Life of a Grocer’s Assistant, The Playboy of the Western World, The Secret Fall of Constance Wilde (Melbourne Arts Festival and The Barbican), The Wake (International Edinburgh Festival), The House, Saint Joan, The Rivals, Dancing at Lughnasa, Bailegangaire and Homebody. Other theatre work includes Jane Eyre, Pygmalion, Pride and Prejudice, One for the Road, Not I, Beckett Festival, Lincoln Center, New York (Gate Theatre), ‘Tis Pity She’s a Whore, Loot, A Little Like Drowning, Conversations on a Homecoming, The Singular Life of Albert Nobbs, The Beauty Queen of Leenane, Duke of Yorks, London (Druid), Digging for Fire, Spokesong, The Way of the World, The Sugar Wife, Soho Theatre, London (Rough Magic) Far Away (Bedrock) Splendour (RAW). Jane is a co-founder of b*spoke theatre company where she appeared in Electra, Boston Marriage and Tejas Verdes and produced The Drunkard, Family Stories, Hysteria and The Sanctuary Lamp. Radio includes Three Sisters, The Plough and the Stars and The Trojan Women. Film and television credits include Fair City, Black Day at Black Rock, Benedict Arnold, The Clinic, Intermission, Studs, Perrier’s Bounty, Single-Handed II and The Tudors. Jane is a member of the Abbey Theatre Board.
