Ian Dickinson

This is Ian’s first time working at the Abbey Theatre. His most recent designs are After The Dance, Women Beware Women (National Theatre, London), Spur of the Moment, Jerusalem, Olivier nomination (Royal Court and West End), Pieces of Vincent (Arcola), Mrs Klein (Almeida), The Misanthrope (Comedy Theatre), 1984 (Royal Exchange) and The Rise And Fall of Little Voice (Vaudeville). Ian spent many years as Resident Designer at the Royal Court where his credits include Wig Out!, Now or Later, Gone Too Far!, Rhinoceros, My Child, The Seagull (also Broadway), Krapp’s Last Tape, Drunk Enough to Say I Love You, Piano/Forte, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Olivier and Tony Award nominations (also Duke of York’s and Broadway), Motortown, The Eleventh Capital, Rainbow Kiss, The Winterling, Alice Trilogy, Fewer Emergencies, Way to Heaven, The Woman Before, Stoning Mary (also Drum Theatre, Plymouth), Breathing Corpses, Wild East, Dumb Show, Shining City (also Gate, Dublin), Lucky Dog, Blest Be the Tie (with Talawa), Ladybird, Notes on Falling Leaves, Loyal Women, The Sugar Syndrome, Blood, Playing the Victim (with Told By an Idiot), Fallout, Flesh Wound, Hitchcock Blonde (also The Lyric, West End), Black Milk, Crazyblackmuthafuckin’self, Caryl Churchill Shorts, Push Up, Fucking Games and Herons. Other theatre credits include Our Class, All’s Well That Ends Well, Death and the King’s Horseman, Harper Regan, The Hothouse and Pillars of the Community (National Theatre, London), Othello, Much Ado About Nothing, Night of the Soul (RSC), Testing the Echo, King of Hearts (Out of Joint), Love and Money, Senora Carrar’s Rifles (Young Vic), A Few Good Men (Theatre Royal, Haymarket), Dr Faustus (Chichester Festival Theatre), The Magic Carpet (Lyric Hammersmith), Macbeth, Port, Prizenight, As You Like It, Poor Superman, Martin Yesterday, Fast Food, Coyote Ugly (Royal Exchange, Manchester), Crime and Punishment in Dalston (Arcola) and Search and Destroy (New End). Ian has been with the Autograph design team since 2009. Autograph is responsible for numerous theatre productions including Priscilla, Les Misérables, Wicked, Mamma Mia, Dirty Dancing, Sister Act, Avenue Q, Hair, Enron and Love Never Dies.
