Eamon Morrissey
Eamon most recently appeared at the Abbey Theatre as Dogsborough in The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui, Chebutykin in Three Sisters, Fr James in The Dandy Dolls and Fluther Good in The Plough and the Stars. Over forty years in the theatre, Eamon has acted in many Abbey Theatre premieres including Borstal Boy (1967), Famine (1968), The Freedom of the City (1973), Canaries (1980), The Broken Jug (1994) and Savoy (2004). He also appeared in the premieres of Brian Friel’s Philadelphia, Here I Come! and Lovers, both of which had long runs on Broadway. A number of his solo shows were premiered at the Peacock Theatre, and three of them, The Brother, Just the One and Byrne were performed at the Tricycle Theatre. Over the years he has toured extensively in Europe, the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Film and television credits include Eat the Peach, The Fitz and Father Ted. For many years he played in Hall’s Pictorial Weekly on RTÉ. Recently he played in Druid Theatre’s production of The Playboy of the Western World.
