Dick Straker
This is Dick’s first time working at the Abbey Theatre. He formed Mesmer to provide projection design and image production services for theatre, performance and visual arts. His collaboration with directors, photographers, choreographers and artists has resulted in a wide range of achievement at the forefront of new forms of image presentation. Recent designs include The Mountaintop (about Martin Luther King), The Guardians (a High Tide festival production) and Just Add Water (Shobana Jeyasingh Dance Company at The Linbury). Previous designs include Rushes, a new ballet and Wagner’s Ring Cycle (Royal Opera House), four Alexander McQueen fashion shows, Orlando (Sadler’s Wells), Sugar Mummies (Royal Court), The Woman in White (London and New York), Julius Caesar (Barbican Theatre), Richard II (Old Vic) and Henry V (National Theatre, London).
