Damian Kearney

Damian’s work at the Abbey Theatre includes Freefall (also Corn Exchange, Edinburgh and International Tour), The Comedy of Errors and The Resistable Rise of Arturo Ui. Most recently Damian appeared in The Flamboyant Bird (Smock Alley), which he also wrote and which won the Fishamble New Writing Award 2011. Other theatre work includes Troilus and Cressida (Cheek by Jowl), Someone to Watch Over Me and Translations (Manchester Library), Goldfish in the Sun (Everyman Palace Theatre), The Tempest and Losing Steam (Corcadorca), The Romans in Britain (Crucible Theatre), A Whistle in the Dark (Citizens Theatre), The Lonesome West (New Vic Theatre), The Cavalcaders (Lyric Theatre), Hamlet, Julius Caesar, Love in a Wood and The Memory of Water (Royal Shakespeare Company) and Antigone (Old Vic Theatre). Television and film work includes Love Hate and Raw (RTÉ), The Tudors (Showtime), Insatiable (Kirby Films), The Wind that Shakes the Barley (Sixteen Films) and The Fitz (Tiger Aspect). Damian is one of the participants in the Abbey Theatre’s New Playwright Programme for 2011.
