Corin Buckeridge
This is Corin’s first time working at the Abbey Theatre. He was Musical Associate at Chichester Festival Theatre from 1987 to1989. Composition work includes Our Lady of Sligo (National Theatre, London), Jumpers (National Theatre and Broadway), King John, ‘Tis Pity She’s a Whore, King Baby, Transit of Venus, The Merchant of Venice, Richard III, A Warwickshire Testimony (RSC), Twelfth Night (Regent’s Park), The Three Musketeers (Bristol Old Vic) and many productions for Leicester Haymarket, Coventry Belgrade, West Yorkshire Playhouse, English Touring Theatre and the West End, including Arcadia. Music for short films includes It’s All Happening!, Ingrid Knows Best and Catching the Moon. He provided the arrangements for Ian Bostridge’s The Noel Coward Songbook for EMI. Work as Musical Director includes The Taming of the Shrew, music by Stephen Warbeck, The Jovial Crew, music by Ian Dury and Mickey Gallagher (RSC), Marianne Dreams, music by Paul Englishby (Almeida) and the European and Japanese tours of Fosse. He was supervising Music Director for the Italian and South African productions of Chicago, for which he was also MD in London. He is currently Musical Director for the West End production of Hairspray. He lives in London with his wife and three children.
