Cathy’s work at the Abbey Theatre includes The Plough and the Stars, Christ Deliver Us!, Only an Apple, The Recruiting Officer, The Crucible, The School for Scandal, The Playboy of the Western World (tour of Ireland and the US), The Burial at Thebes, The Plough and the Stars (2003), A Whistle in the Dark, Tartuffe, Medea, The Broken Jug, Living Quarters, A Crucial Week in the Life of a Grocer’s Assistant and Silverlands. Recent theatre work includes Strandline (Fishamble), Solemn Mass for a Full Moon in Summer (Rough Magic), The Playboy of the Western World (Druid, Tokyo Arts Festival), Uncle Vanya, Festen, A View from the Bridge, Betrayal (Gate Theatre), Skylight (Landmark Productions), Shiver (Rough Magic), Silas Marner, Women in Arms, for which she was nominated for an Irish Times/ESB Award for Best Actress (Storytellers), Tiné Cnámh, An Triall, Scothsleálta (Amharclann de hÍde), True Lines (Bickerstaffe), Buddleia, Kitchensink (The Passion Machine), The Tempest, Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet (Island) and Eclipsed (Townhall, Galway). Television credits include Aine in Single Handed 4 (RTÉ/ITV), the lead role of Maura in Roy (BBC/Jam Media), The Clinic, Glenroe, Paths to Freedom and Proof (RTÉ). Films include The Other Side of Sleep, directed by Rebecca Daly, to be released later this year, Foxes, Savage, Sally in John Boorman’s The Tiger’s Tail, Intermission, Paul Mercier’s Before I Sleep and Tubberware. Radio for BBC and RTÉ includes The Silver Fox, The Power of Darkness, Departures, The Plough and the Stars, The Beebox, Performances, Juno and the Paycock, The Irish RM and just recently, Have You Found Jesus? by Eithne Hand. Cathy graduated from Trinity College with a degree in Drama and English.
