Aoife McMahon

This is Aoife’s first time working at the Abbey Theatre. Her theatre work includes Good Night Mr Tom (Chichester Festival Theatre), Athene in The Oresteia (SummerScape Festival, New York), Hallelujah, The Great Theatre of the World (Arcola Theatre), Anne Boleyn in Henry VIII, Beauty in Beauty and the Beast (RSC), Zoe in O Go My Man (Royal Court), Lady Macbeth in Macbeth (Derby Playhouse), Alma in Gates of Gold (Finborough Arms), Scenes from the Big Picture (National Theatre, London), Pains of Youth (National Theatre Studio), Andora (Young Vic), Dancing at Lughnasa (Watermill, Newbury and Greenwich Theatres), The Playboy of the Western World (Liverpool Playhouse), Oriana (Kabosh) and the title role in Deirdre (Armagh Rhymers). Film and television credits include A Touch of Frost (ITV), Holy Cross, My Dad’s the Prime Minister, Doctors, Steel River Blues (BBC), The Clinic (RTÉ) and a leading role in Random Passage for which she received the 2002 Best Actress Gemini Award.
