Alison McKenna

Alison’s work at the Abbey theatre includes The Cherry Orchard, The Colleen Bawn, nominated Best Supporting Actress, Irish Times Theatre Awards, The Importance of Being Earnest, She Stoops to Folly, Six Characters in Search of an Author, Moses Rock and The Misogynist. Other theatre credits include Ibsen’s The Lady from the Sea in a new version by Frank McGuinness, An Enemy of the People in a new version by Rebecca Lenkiewicz (Arcola Theatre, London), Tic (Tall Tales), Hysteria, nominated Best Actress, Irish Times Theatre Awards (b*spoke theatre company and Minerva, Chichester), Aristocrats, Pride and Prejudice, Great Expectations, Jane Eyre (Gate Theatre), The Glass Menagerie (Watford Palace), Mutabilitie, Night of the Iguana (National Theatre, London), The Colleen Bawn, A Woman of No Importance (Manchester Royal Exchange), The Hostage (RSC) and Young Writers Festival (Royal Court). Television and film work includes The Clinic, The Bill, The Cassidys, The Ambassador, Pie in the Sky, The American, The Actors, The Fifth Provence and Bossanova Blues. Alison co-founded b*spoke theatre company and has produced Electra, The Drunkard, Boston Marriage, Family Stories, Tejas Verdes, Honour, The Sanctuary Lamp and Benefactors for the company.
