Aaron Monaghan
Aaron’s work at the Abbey Theatre includes Romeo and Juliet, Drama at Inish, The Shaughraun (Irish Times Theatre Award Nomination Best Supporting Actor), Finders Keepers, The Burial at Thebes, I Do Not Like Thee Doctor Fell, The Wolf of Winter and She Stoops to Conquer (Irish Times Theatre Award Nomination for Best Supporting Actor). Work with Druid includes DruidSynge (Galway, Dublin, Edinburgh International Festival, Inis Meain, New York, Guthrie Theater, Minneapolis), Empress of India (Dublin Theatre Festival), The Walworth Farce, The Year of the Hiker and The Playboy of the Western World (Ireland, England, Perth, Tokyo). Other theatre work includes Alone it Stands (Ireland, England, Malaysia), Pubu (Articulate Anatomy), Roberto Zucco (Bedrock Productions) and The Tinker’s Curse (Livin Dred). His most recent theatre work includes Handel’s Crossing (Fishamble) and The Cripple of Inishmaan with Druid and Atlantic Theatres for which he received an Irish Times Theatre Award Nomination for Best Actor and won an OBIE Award for Outstanding Performance and a Lucille Lortel Award for Best Actor. Television and film credits include Little Foxes, Ella Enchanted, Deep Breaths, The Last Furlong, Speed Dating, Hide and Seek, The Deep End and LSD:73. Aaron trained at the Samuel Beckett Centre, Trinity College and the British American Drama Academy, Oxford University. He is a founding member of Livin Dred Theatre Company
