Sign Language Interpretation x 3

Three Actors and Three Interpreters

On Saturday, 20 February at 2.30pm, Elaine Murphy’s award winning play, Little Gem, will be presented in Irish sign language by three individual interpreters. The three actors Sarah Grene, Hilda Fay and Anita Reeves will have their performances interpreted individually by Amanda Coogan, Vanessa O’Connell and Caroline O’Leary.

This is our tenth year of sign language interpretation at the Abbey Theatre and this is just our second time to present a one-on-one character interpretation. It allows the interpreters to be true to the actors onstage as well as to the words of the playwright. It was previously done with Terminus by Mark O’Rowe and we found this style worked particularly well with a monologue format.

You can book on line http://www.abbeytheatre.ie 01 87 87 222 or by fax 01 8797390
