Assisted performances
The Abbey Theatre offers a range of services for deaf and disabled patrons including signed, audio described and captioned performances.
We have an infra-red loop system at the Abbey stage. Headsets are available through the Box Office. Please reserve at the time of booking.
During a captioned performance the actors’ words appear as visible text on screens on or near the stage at the same time as they are spoken. Specific seats with a clear view of the caption units are reserved for audience members availing of this service, so please specify that you are booking for the captioned performance when you contact the Box Office.

Sign language interpreted performances are programmed on both the Abbey and Peacock stages. Specific seats with a clear view of the signer are reserved for audience members availing of this service, so please specify that you are booking for the signed performance when you contact the Box Office.

Discounted Tickets
Visitors availing of our assisted services at Assisted Performances are entitled to a discounted ticket rate. This discount is also available to patrons with a disability or special seating requirement for any Abbey Theatre production on the Abbey or Peacock stages.
Ticket Prices:
Assisted Performances: €18
Abbey Theatre productions on the Abbey stage: €18 Evening / €17 Matinee
Abbey Theatre productions on the Peacock stage: €18 (all performances)
