Easter Monday at the Abbey Theatre in partnership with RTÉ’s Reflecting the Rising

The Abbey Theatre will run a series of events on the Abbey stage on Easter Monday, 28 March 2016, as part of the Ireland 2016 programme. These events are free but ticketed and early booking is strongly recommended.

Join historian Fearghal McGarry (Queen’s University Belfast) for a lecture on the role of the Abbey Rebels and the wider impact of Easter week on the Abbey Theatre.

2pm, Abbey stage
Me, Mollser (Children’s programme)

Join us for re-telling of The Plough and the Stars by Sean O’Casey through the eyes of its youngest character, Mollser.

Helena Molony, Abbey Rebel (Talk)

Join author and poet Nell Regan as she talks about her new book, Helena Molony: A Radical Life, the first substantive biography about this remarkable actor and activist of the Rising.

An Filleadh (Children’s programme)

Join us for the premiere of An Filleadh, a new play for children by Alan Titley, commissioned as part of Féile na Físe by Seachtain na Gaeilge, exploring the fate of a family caught up in the history of the pre-Rising period.

This play will be produced and performed by the students of Gaelcholáiste an Phiarsaigh, a newly founded All-Irish coeducational second level school in Rathfarnham, Dublin.
