• 309 actors worked on the Abbey stages
• 798 roles were cast for shows, readings and workshops
• 2,000 joined Access All Abbey, a discounted ticket scheme for young people
• 23,500 saw work on tour in 2008
• 753 unsolicited scripts were responded to by the Literary Department
• 32 productions staged by the Abbey in Dublin, nationally and internationally
• 111 talks took place at the Abbey Theatre
• 11,500 attended these talks
• 34 writers under commission plus 12 short play commissions
• 2,328 school children, teachers and parents took part in education programmes
• 50 assisted performances. (32 signed performances,11 audio described performances, 7 captioned performances)
• 30 writers were commissioned to write programme notes
• 367 actors were engaged for inhouse play workshops and public readings
• 38 Literary Department workshops
• €118m contribution to the Irish economy
