Have a healthy 2010!
Find out ways to enjoy a happier and healthier 2010 with our series of talks based around issues of mental health.
Mental Health Matters is a series of talks programmed to raise awareness about some of the most significant subjects at play in our recent and upcoming productions, and in our communities nationwide.
Already we have had a visit from holistic therapist Karen Ward, best known for her appearances on RTÉ’s The Health Squad. In a discussion about ways to restore balance to our lives, Karen gave practical advice on how we can change a little to change a lot.
Next we will have a talk from Thomas Kilroy, writer of our upcoming production, Christ Deliver Us!, which opens in February 2010. Thomas has already spoken to us about some of the issues raised in this new play. To highlight the importance of addressing these questions of suicide, unplanned pregnancy, friendship and support, Thomas will speak to Dr. John Connolly from the Irish Association of Suicidology on Tuesday, 23rd February at 6pm.
Mental Health Matters concludes with a talk from well-known Irish writer, broadcaster and psychologist, Dr. Maureen Gaffney. She will lead an exploration of happiness, suffering, adversity and redemption on Tuesday, 9 March at 6pm.
Tickets for all talks cost just €3 or are free to Members. You can book tickets online, or phone Box Office on 01 87 87 222. For full details on these and other talks, click here.
