Auditions
The Abbey Theatre holds General Auditions Bi-annually.
Auditions are by appointment only and the choice of whom to audition will be based on a variety of factors, most importantly actors who have not auditioned for the Abbey Theatre before. A number of slots will be held for self-represented actors.
Submission deadline for first round of 2012 auditions is Friday 27 January at 5pm.
General Auditions will be held the week of 6 February.
Please note that due to a high volume of applications, the Casting Department will not respond to applications. An auto-response will be sent to let you know your application was successfully received. Again due to this high volume, not all actors will be successful in receiving a slot. We will be holding more general auditions towards the end of the year and would welcome people applying again.
For environmental reasons, the Abbey Theatre would prefer to receive CVs and photos by email.
Please send your CV to casting.submissions@abbeytheatre.ie. Ideally all CVs will have a headshot on the page. If not then please send photo’s in jpg or pdf format, no larger than 1mb. Please put your full name in the subject line.
Actors who are invited to audition will be asked to prepare two contrasting monologues, no longer than 3 minutes each.
One of these should be in your own accent (the actual piece does not have to have been written in your accent) and one should be from a contemporary Irish play. No Shakespeare please.
